It’s just not fall until you’ve watched Fantastic Mr. Fox. Those are the rules.

Loki is wildly uneven (and it certainly feels like they stretched this story out as far as they could to fill six episodes), but its season opener and season closer are both so strong - and the character work for Loki and Sylvie is so solid - that I’m ultimately positive on the show as a whole, even if I feel that there’s considerable room to improve in the future.

Yeah, this one didn’t hold up at all, unfortunately. In trying so hard to be some epic statement on existence, it fails to simply tell a good story, and it simultaneously loses sight of its characters. I respect Pixar for tackling such weighty subject matter, but the execution can’t quite match their ambitions.
Cruella is Disney at its darkest, and it’s a GOD DAMN DELIGHT. There are valid critiques to make (there’s no reason this needed to be over two hours long), but ultimately, it’s bursting at the seams with so much style and spunk that it’s hard to spend too much time complaining when this is exactly what we’ve been asking for from Disney’s live action remakes for YEARS.
