Sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, cause what's a hero?

I don’t know, maybe I long for 2000s and 2010s Wes where he wears his emotions on his sleeve vs. the recent three that are cerebral and where the emotionality hides behind an intricately complicated… well, scheme for a plot. Beautifully shot as always, and Cera and Del Toro are spectacular (ever wonder what Humphrey Bogart would look like in a Wes film? Wonder no longer) but I’m not sure I understand what he’s getting at in Phoenicia
Anora is well shot, Madison gives a great performance, but this is a cosmically misguided film to the point where I think it’s actively exploitative and mocking to the human beings it claims to champion. Im kind of shocked at the acclaim, and need to rethink Baker in general…
