A Page of Madness

1926

★★

Can’t say this done much for me, truthfully. Feels like an incoherent dream (nightmare may be more fitting), random snippets spliced together so distedly—seemingly intentional, as a method to emulate the psychological deterioration within the institution. Super experimental. Very sinister undertones, yet, has this strange, darkly comedic nature to a lot of it too, particularly in those earlier sequences. Pretty much gives the impression of a bad trip. That Whiplash drum-solo score around the halfway mark went crazy.
