andddd i’ve seen this 4 times now 😵💫😵💫
which is a testament to how this was constructed! every interaction is chock-full of incredible depth. seriously, every actor in this brings forth such amazingly humanistic performances. so many layers to the lies in the film as well as characters trying to cope with the events set off in that amazing opening scene. everytime i see this im just left thinking, “wow now i gotta watch that again.” such a incredibly taut screenplay, every aspect of sandra and her families lives are unpacked with meticulous discretion. yet it never feels exaggerated or cruel to the characters. triet cares about everyone here, and lets the viewer abdicate their spot on the couch to a spot on the jury.
love this movie!!!
