Freddy vs. Jason

2003

★★★★ Liked Rewatched

I started watching it yesterday but didn't have time to finish it until today.

This is acually a decent movie. But the magic from both franchises are kinda gone. Feels more like any other generic (nu)horror movie from the early 00s. The nightmarish fever dreams feels very restrained. Freddy looks much better though compared to New Nightmare, and there's a good amount of blood and gore.

Spineshank, Ill Niño and Killswitch Engage is a big plus as well.

The Gray Man

2022

★★★ Watched

Just above mediocre. Some good scenes, the atmosphere is nice, Gosling and Thornton's performances are great as usual. Falls short on the plot.

The death scenes lacked the creativity that typically sets the franchise apart. The dream sequences - the heart of this franchise - felt bland and uninspired. That said, it’s still definitely a watchable film and a respectable attempt to revive the series.

It's Blade Runner and Monty Python on drugs. The production design is fucking incredible. Every shot is crammed with surreal detail and weirdly beautiful decay. The…
