EVERYTHING MUST COME TO AN END…. SORTA
So I was planning to post this somewhere around August but my math once again screwed things over. You would expect more from the son of an ant.
But yeah, I finally hit the 10k movies. Actually I had reached it weeks ago, but I stopped the films. And I still can’t believe it. Honestly not sure how I reached that number in what seems a span of 5 years or so. Guess I had seen 4k films or something before I went on that 4 movies per day rampage. Funny enough, that happened somewhere around this month or Summer of 2020 when it seemed COVID will ruin the world as a whole. There was another of those hopes things would get better, just for this new reality hit us again and we all being forced to stay at home. So given up in any social life and having decided to finish the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die list, I started to watch 4, 5 or even 7 movies per day. Luckily things got better, but my watching habits remained.
And I guess that takes me to the first news. While the 4 movies schedule will remain through most of this month, June, July, October (I am doing an entire studio) and probably December, I’d be cutting down on the numbers of films I will be logging and watching. I finished this year’s K-gust and they will only be 3 loggings (no North Korea, sorry!) with weekends only being 1. September appears to be the same, at best 3. And November might be also be the same.
Now, if you are one of those who actually read and like all my ramblings, fear not. Obviously I will continue writing. I’m also starting this or next week a new gig as a writer on High on Films. I’ve been approved to write a piece on look into Adam Sandler as a serious actor, including some of his silly comedies. I’d be reviewing FD: Bloodline for them as well as ranking all the franchise’s death. And I will write individual reviews for all including Soul Survivor for my site VENTS. And there might be more.
The other big change will be as you noticed I am removing “Parker!!” off my name and will be using the one nickname I was given by my professors and everyone knows me on film school, “Mister Movie.” They called me that way because they all said I was a walking movie encyclopedia. And now that I’ve reached that crazy 10k number, I guess I sorta am lol.
And last but not least, I put together a little list. It was supposed to be like my own 1001 Movies You Must See, but I guess I went a little above that number. But yeah, if you are ever in need of some new films or would like to know which of the 10k films resonated with me the most, here’s my Should See list
