★★★★ Watched

In "Sunset Boulevard", Gloria Swanson's Norma Desmond famously said, "We didn't need dialogue, we had faces!” Indeed. Overall the movie is so-so, but every scene with Madeleine Stowe makes *Worth Winning* worth watching.

I have to it this is a stupid movie. But I also must it it is a lot of fun, inventive, and occasionally even witty.

There is something charmingly off-kilter about the best Irish comedies, and this somewhat silly horror comedy abounds with that spirit, no pun intended.

★★★½ Watched

Another charming comedy powered by the effortless chemistry of Colbert and MacMurray. This one teaches two important life lessons:
1) Never takes Claudette Colbert along while digging a tunnel under a river.
2) Never, ever, play musical chairs with nine bellicose Irishmen.
