Showdown: Ever After

This is me judging everyone else's categorization of "fairy tale" while absolutely refusing to pin down my own criteria. There are rules and I know what they are but I can't explain them. Which is, appropriately, a very fairy tale way of going about things.

Honorable mentions:
EverAfter (not enough magic, but I still love you, Drew)
Brandy & Whitney's Cinderella (the R&H Cinderella in general is just not weird enough to be a proper fairy tale, but this movie is still fab)
The Last Unicorn (too much high fantasy but strong fairy tale elements - looking at you, skeleton drinking wine)

p.s. This list is mainly Western/European fairy tales, and I'd love to have suggestions from people for some great fairy tale films from other parts of the world.
