Celine Song continues her pragmatic approach to love and romance in her sophomore entry in Materialist. Even when you recognize the predictable beats that exist in so many Rom-Coms, Song makes every moment grounded with so much nuance. To the point where you find yourself understanding that whichever path Dakota Johnson’s character Lucy chooses, it would be a viable path for her.

Chris Evans does his best work here, welcome back bro. Pedro is Pedro, and it’s lovely to see…

Now THIS is a good adaptation, because they pressed copy and paste.

It definitely helps when the same director is at the helm and seems to have been given the reins of all creative control too here.
Even when they tweaked it here and there, it was meaningful and added to the story.

Mason and Nico capture the essence of Hiccup and Astrid (they remind me so much of Peter and MJ/Tom and Zendaya). I see why Gerard as Stoick was the right move.

If they live action the sequel, I better see Cate Blanchett as Valka.

Bong Joon Ho is BACK BABY!

As someone who read the original book from which this movie was “based” on. I say that because it’s very loosely adapted from Edward Ashton’s story but the creative liberties and changes that Bong Joon Ho made elevated this story to new heights.

No one does dark comedy like Bong Joon Ho.
Robert Pattinson deserves awards for this performance.
Naomi, Steven, Toni, all had iconic moments.
Mark Ruffalo plays into his Poor Things character…

I contain multitudes. I am wonderful. I deserve to be wonderful.
As someone who loves dance (and was good at it too) but was also good at math, I get it Chuck.

We are more than our jobs, we are more than our adversities and tragedies, we are more than our relationships to different people. And you best believe you matter in this world and the world needs you too.

Thank you Chuck!
