I not enjoying this movie the first time I watched because I couldn’t get over how dense Bryce was and thought Julie deserved better. I don't necessarily disagree with my past self, but I had a slightly more charitable read on rewatch. Sure, Julie is too good for Bryce, but by the end I think he realizes that, and I think the movie wants you to believe he will become good enough for her and, this time, I did.

As always this is a great movie. I don't say that lightly and I don't mean it flippantly. This is an actual all timer.
