Maarten Rogier’s review published on Letterboxd:
It's sort of Grease with all the joy sucked out of it. Ostensibly about a group of friends but it's really about Chico trying to get laid with the new girl that is a bit out of his league and getting upset she doesn't want to be another notch in his bedpost, and Stanley dealing with his girlfriend whose only personality trait is "pregnant."
This could work if we see the dynamics and reactions of the friends to these events, but this is mostly ignored, including two of the fuor friends. Poor Henry Winkler is trying his best to be the emotional center but he just gets too little to do to make any kind of impact. There is a cute scene in the ice cream shop where the friends try to harmonise a song, but it's with some other friend instead of Chico.
The music is good though.
