Mit ihrer Kombination von Bild, Dialog und Musik vereint sie alle anderen Kunstformen zum, im idealen Fall, perfektem Ganzen. Es gibt natürlich noch andere Sellingpoints als Emotionen: Diskursteilhabe, Provokation oder Unterhaltung und auch hier schlägt für mich der Film in der Regel die anderen Künste, aber nirgendwo werden Texte, Bilder oder Musik so weit abgehängt wie beim Transportieren und Schaffen von Emotionen.…

I think the relationship between Suzume and Sōta is build up very badly and rushed, and the scene that explains the emotional relevance of the chair is placed in the wrong position and too late. It ruined the emotional impact of the first showdown completely for me.

The characters are boring and flat as is the side story within the telescope station.

After the first episode I was like: Okay we got the characters introduced, now let's kick off the story and present some mysteries.

Well, they are there, but not interesting enough to build up tension. I understand the plot needs them…
