The two sisters are great and it fixes some story issues from the original that had never occurred to me, probably because I was too busy being entertained. The energy seems to have been sucked out and there’s none of the wit or visual inventiveness that Dean Fleischer Camp brought to Marcel the Shell. My 2 1/2 year old was mostly engaged, but I don’t imagine her (or anyone) ever choosing to watch this over the original.
