Short and bittersweet. Contains some of the most striking shots and sequences I’ve ever seen animated. Perhaps a bit slight by the end, I began to feel but it didn’t push me fully into those feelings. It felt like crying blue balls, this could’ve made me cry at 70-80 minutes for sure.

One of the best breakup movies in recent memory. Also one of the most brutal. Unrelenting in its portrayal of our desperation in the face of abandonment. We’ll mutilate ourselves beyond recognition if it means having things our way, leaving us with nothing but a pathetic “I told you so”. But who even is “I” at that point? Who is “you”?

Once again a modern movie with tons of praise drives me to the theater and I leave feeling like I saw something decidedly generic and messy. It happened with The Wild Robot, Problemista, Spider-Verse 2, Dune, the list goes on.
