Hardee’s review published on Letterboxd:
Possibly the most vast and expansive the Wild West has ever looked in my journey through the genre - even the distance occupying the frame during the bar scenes mirrors into the infinite. Within this space, an entire universe surrounds each character, and how these collide are characterized by Ford’s expertise. The revisionist framework that would become rampant in the 60s and 70s would of course be explored much earlier by the genre's master from the beginning to the end of his entire career. One of the best examples of the western that I've seen, but I have plenty of other Fords to check out.
