Mission impossible was always one of those franchises I never really pursued but always heard good things. I had always wanted to watch these films but never found the time to do so. I think what makes this one the best of the seventeen Fleischer cartoons is how it nails the formula perfectly. There’s a crazy bad guy, he does some serious destruction, Lois gets herself in trouble along with the serious destruction, Clark calmly claims this is a job for Superman and gets in his iconic costume and the rest of the cartoon is watching Superman save the day. Kinda funny Lois’s big story in the movie is called “why the world doesn’t need Superman” because honestly we’re living in a world where we don’t need Superman returns anymore. It was probably a cute return for the character back in 2006 but ultimately twenty years later we’ve moved on.
