This is where it all started for me.
Lynch's 1986 masterpiece will forever hold a special place in my heart. Not only for it being the introduction into his filmography, but also the starting point of where I am today and how I engage with film as a medium. It made me come to the realisation that it can be more important to feel something than to understand it, to connect with a film on its own level rather than trying to find answers to everything. To have a film that is abstract and dream like but it doesn't beg you to interpret it.
Which makes me really sad that he is gone because I feel like we have lost this with cinema today, and him dying really just signifies this to me.
