Fun movie. It isn't high art or anything, but it doesn't have to be. It's just plain fun with a great art style. It's jokes don't always land but when they land, they LAND. Also they kill Santa in this movie.

Okay, weirdly rewatching this on Prime I liked it more this time. I don’t know why.

Yeah, it was pretty good. The big thing everyone will notice about it is the colors, how everyone is shot in black and white until they are given the memories, but the lighting afterwards is so poor it kind of falls flat for me. The giver himself was the best character easily, nobody else was even near his level. I like his speech at the end. I don't know, it's a fine movie, but not anything special.

So, I have been very hyped for this movie ever since it started getting glowing reviews. And watching it, I really liked it. It went a completely different direction than I thought it would, but I still loved that direction. I didn't expect it to be a musical what the heck.
