He’s such a queen for making this movie all about wizard of oz

Pretty unfocused. I get it was meant to be about corruption and violence and women and gender but it didn’t really feel like a thoughtful intertwining of all those things and rather like a hodge podge that wasn’t quite about anything. It sort of switched protagonists midway through the film which was random, and felt like there wasn’t enough emotional inferiority to either Emilia or Rita. A lot of unnecessary narrative issues….. for example when they meet at a dinner in London and both say they don’t miss Mexico AT ALL and then immediately move back to Mexico…. So random.
What in the wigs was going on here. Something about the artifice of it all worked for me though. Natalie Portman was inexplicably so addicted to carrying her straw tote bag everywhere, even though it seemed like all she had with her was a tiny notebook.
