I heard John Garfield was doing Brando before Brando. I did not expect him to play a guy trying to impress a girl named Stella on the docks.

Is this even a movie? Special effects weren't finished, but the studio told Mann to end post-production. The movie went from Mann's 3 hour cut to 90 minutes. The sound is a mess: words and mouths never line up, some scenes are drastically louder than others. An ending, which was actually finished, was left out of the final cut. The end result is half of 75% of a movie.
